2017 Pop-Up Conference

Ipul is currently planning for a one day "pop-up" confrence for families to be held in Boise on Thursday, June 22nd.  We hope to make it a great experience for entire families, with fun events and good information.  You can click here (or the link above and to the left) to register and express your interest the events.

Here's our conference agenda:

9:00-10:00 – Register, Coffee, Continental Breakfast
10:00 – 10:20 – Welcome – Angela Lindig, Executive Director
10:20 – 11:30 – Family Engagement – From Schools to Community, IPUL Staff; Eggceptional Easter Egg Hunt; Special Needs Trunk or Treat, Special Needs Story Time, Amanda Bowden, Children’s Librarian, Portneuf District Library
11:30 - Noon – Creating a Sensory Diet – Laurie Appel, Occupational Therapist, OTR/L, Founder, The Lotus Tree
Lunch – Keynote – Mathew Jordan, Music Therapist and Teaching Artist, Music Makes Connections
1:00-1:30 – Pop Up Presentation: Using the Arts in Education (and employment skill building) – Amy Nack, Teaching Artist and Owner of Wingtip Press, and Heather Kirk Skinner, IPUL Arts Coordinator
1:30– 2:00 – Pop-Up Presentation:  Reading is for All - Debra Haley-Hughes, Statewide Results Driven Accountability Coordinator, SESTA
2:00-2:30 – Pop Up Presentation: Creating an Inclusive Classroom – Mary Spiker, Kindergarten Teacher & Idaho Teacher of the Year, 2017
2:30-3:00 – Getting Organized – Make and Take – Home Files - IPUL Staff
3:00-3:30 – Conversations with Self-Advocates – Panel
3:30-4:00 – ABLE Act (SILC) and Guardianships and long term planning (Mel Leviton, Executive Director of the Idaho State Independent Living Council (SILC), Sean Beck, CK Quade Law)
4:30-5:00 – Focus on Fathers – Panel
5:00 - Closing Plenary – Amber Mausling, Board Chair
Entire Day – Zot Artz
Entire Day –  Quiet space – books, storytelling, coloring, etc.

Additionally, we are looking for volunteers to assist with childcare.
