Idaho Parents Unlimited is happy to make scholarships available to parents who wish to attend conferences or events that may be relevant to your child’s disability. Payment is in the form of a reimbursement after the event has occured.
Idaho Parents Unlimited (IPUL) offers limited parent scholarships to support families in attending trainings, conferences, and educational activities that increase knowledge about special education, early intervention, and supporting children with disabilities.
These scholarships are funded through IDEA Part B and must be used for educational purposes only.
How to Request a Scholarship:
- Submit your request at least 30 days before the event or activity.
- Include:
- Proof of registration (if applicable)
- An agenda, flyer, or website link describing the event
Once your request is received, an IPUL staff member will contact you to review the activity and approve specific allowable expenses. Expenses must be approved before the event or purchase.
Reimbursement Process:
- Scholarships are reimbursement only. IPUL cannot provide payment in advance.
- After the event, you must submit:
- Receipts for approved expenses
- A short follow-up report about what you learned and how you will share the information with others
- Documentation must be submitted within 30 days after the event.
- Reimbursement may take up to 30 days after all required information is received.
Examples of Allowable Expenses: (With prior approval)
- Registration or training fees
- Mileage, lodging, and meals related to the event
Non-Allowable Expenses:
Scholarship funds cannot be used for:
- Activities not related to disability or special education learning
- Entertainment, recreation, or leisure activities
- Memberships or subscriptions
- Clothing or personal items
- Meals not related to approved travel
- Lost wages or stipends
- Expenses incurred before approval
- Expenses without receipts
Sharing Requirement:
Because these funds are federal IDEA dollars, recipients are expected to share what they learned with other parents, schools, or community members. Details will be included in the follow-up report.
