Crisis Resources

STOP – If you feel you cannot keep yourself or your youth safe during an emergency, go to the nearest emergency department or call 911.

If you are considering suicide, in crisis, or need to talk, you can call or text 988 – the Idaho Crisis & Suicide Hotline, toll free 24/7.

Mobile Response Teams (MRTs) – 988 has access to Mobile Response Teams that are made up of trained behavioral health professionals who come to your child during a crisis. They help assess what is happening, provide immediate support and calming help, and, if needed, connect your child to a higher level of care.

Youth Crisis Centers (YCCs) – Youth Crisis Centers give kids and teens ages 5–17 a calm and safe place to go when they’re in crisis. These centers support youth who are dealing with mental health or substance use challenges, helping before things get worse or require hospitalization. Services are free, voluntary, open 24/7, and walk-ins are welcome. Youth can stay for stabilization for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes.
