Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrated interest in youth leadership, disability advocacy, communications, education, social services, marketing, or a related field.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to create engaging digital content using current social media platforms and basic graphic design or video editing tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common social media applications.
• Hands-on experience with TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook — you must be able to share examples of social content you've created.
• Experience with photography, videography, graphic design, podcast production, or content editing. You must be able to share examples of what you have created.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout Idaho as required.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

• Lived experience as an individual with a disability or special health care need.
• Immediate family experience supporting an individual with a disability or special health care need.
• Experience working with youth, young adults, or families.
• Postsecondary education in communications, education, marketing, social work, psychology, recreation, nonprofit management, or a related field.

• Learn and utilize new technology and communication platforms.
• Familiarity with editing tools like CapCut, Canva, or Adobe Premiere
• Prior experience managing a brand, club, team, or personal account with real growth (while not required, it would be nice to show)
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
• Represent IPUL positively within the community.

 

Specific Job Duties
Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Youth Activities Coordinator (approximately 10-20 hours per week, varies by week depending on events, etc)

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate youth leadership activities, workshops, trainings, and community events that promote self-determination, advocacy, and successful transition to adulthood.
• Support implementation of the YES program and other youth initiatives by recruiting participants, coordinating logistics, maintaining communication with families, and ensuring successful event execution.
• Assist youth and families in accessing information, resources, and services that support education, employment, independent living, health care transition, and community participation.
• Promote youth leadership opportunities by encouraging participation in advisory groups, community activities, conferences, and public awareness events.
• Collaborate with IPUL’s Program Directors and other IPUL staff to ensure youth activities complement PTI, Family to Family Health Information Center, and other organizational priorities.

Social Media Content Creator (approximately 10-20 hours per week, varies by week depending on events, etc)

• Create graphics, photographs, videos, short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook, podcasts, and written content that accurately represent IPUL's mission, programs, events, and impact.
• Assist with photography and videography at training sessions, conferences, community events, and organizational activities.
• Travel to locations for on-site shoots and content days.
• Monitor content DMs and engagement, and respond appropriately to comments and messages on assigned accounts, consistent with organizational policies.
• Assist with content calendars, captions, and posting schedules across client accounts
• Assist in implementing IPUL's communications and marketing strategies to increase awareness of programs, services, trainings, and advocacy initiatives.
• Track basic performance metrics and flag what's working
• Stay on top of trending audio, formats, and platform changes
• Maintain consistency with IPUL branding, messaging, accessibility standards, and digital communication guidelines.
• Assist with website updates, electronic newsletters, promotional materials, and other communications as assigned

General Job Duties

• Maintain accurate program documentation, activity records, participant information, and reporting data as required by funding sources.
• Develop positive working relationships with youth, families, schools, community organizations, service providers, and partner agencies.
• Participate in staff meetings, program planning, organizational trainings, and professional development activities.
• Represent Idaho Parents Unlimited professionally at meetings, trainings, conferences, outreach events, and community activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of client, family, and organizational information in accordance with agency policy and applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned that support the mission and goals of Idaho Parents Unlimited.

Physical Requirements
This position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, lifting materials up to approximately 25 pounds, operating standard office equipment, attending community events, and occasional travel throughout Idaho. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
 
Work Enviroment Work is performed primarily in an office environment with regular travel to trainings, conferences, schools, community events, and partner meetings. Some evening or weekend work may be required to support organizational activities.

Salary: $20.00 per hour, 30 hours per week
